Children and Creativity
Imagination and creativity is critical in child development in order to help them grow into a creative and responsible individual. Encouraging them to explore, to form and test their theories, and to try to understand how the world works. We can then urge them to think about results and think about changes they could make or things they could do differently. We should emphasize on the process of creativity not on the finished product.
How do we recognize and help encourage our children’s creativity?
We notice that they start to question what, why, and how….all the times. The children form a picture in their mind and they have ability to think of new things and to be curious of knowing more.
When they are learning about the world, they connect the new information with what they already know and explore the meaning of the new ones. This process provides children with opportunities that stimulate their thought process and enable them to develop their critical thinking process.
